Product Description:

Huawei HONET UA5000 multi-service access product integrates traditional voice, VoIP, private line, PBX, video, and multimedia services for subscribers. It provides GE, FE, E1, GPON, and EPON network ports for transmitting services upstream. Huawei HONET UA5000 can be used in scenarios such as integrated access, broadband access, and enterprise access.

The IPMD board is an IP service processing board. The IPMD board has the following functions:

  • Aggregates and processes broadband services.
  • Forwards the VoIP services of the PVMD board.
  • Transmits IP services upstream through the FE/GE electrical port or the GE optical port.
When two IPMD boards are configured, 32 broadband service channels and 12 GE service channels are supported.

The basic working principles of the IPMD board are as follows:

  • The control module controls and manages other modules and performs the active/standby switchover.
  • The switching and service processing module:
  1. Provides FE or GE ports.
  2. Switches services.
  3. Ensures the quality of service (QoS).
  4. Schedules queues.
  5. Controls security.
  6. Provides the star broadband bus to connect to the service boards of the backplane.
  • The power module supplies power to each functional module of the board.
  • The clock module provides clock signals for each functional module of the board.

COM: RS-232 maintenance serial port Supports the local and remote maintenance. Through this port, you can configure the system in CLI through software such as HyperTerminal. Backplane of the HABA shelf Use the IPMD FE/GE cable-rear access to connect the port to the peer device.
RS-485 serial port Monitors the power supply. HWCF (front access shelf) Use the fan monitoring cable to connect the port to the DB9 connector of the fan tray.
Environment monitoring serial port Manages the intelligent MDF and the fan tray. HWCF (front access shelf) Use the ESC monitoring cable to connect the port to the COM2 port on the ESC board.
